The newly crowned miss Malawi- Tionge Munthali Who said the Northern people can never be models? " Tumbukas love soya pieces" "Tumbukas are primitive" "All Tumbukas wanna see in their life is Blantyre"  Despite all the jokes that are made about Tumbukas being ugly,  miss malawi judges have proved that wrong. Tionge Munthali, a Mzuzu based model and a student at Malawi assemblies of God University (MAGU) has scooped the Miss Malawi crown leaving everyone who doubted the north mouth agape. The 23 year old model has received 7 million Kwacha worth prizes which include a Nissan Tiida, Laptop & a cell phone. If Tumbukas really love Soya pieces, I would advise Blantyre & Lilongwe models to join them if you want to become the next miss Malawi. Soya has beauty in it. And if you thought all that Tumbukas want to see is Blantyre, well, they want to be miss Malawi as well

Gennii black 1.      Dissing the most respected rapper If you wanna trend fast in Mdubz, dissing the top dawg is considered the easiest way. Even though goons blow up with a diss record, it takes one’s skill and lyricism to hook fans. In the 2000’s we witnessed the uprising of rappers like Jolly Bro better known as J.B, Fredokiss as well as Jaba Joe after making several diss records for the Nyau king Tay grin. Since then, J.B & Fredokiss become house hold names. The same route was taken by Genni Black who dissed L city’s heavyweight Third Eye, and Avokado who dissed Martse. Both ventured into the hall of fame with their diss records.   Charisma; Madness rapper 2.      Photo while answering the call of nature Despite trending using Designer’s Panda cover, Madness rapper Charisma had to gather his courage and imitate Wizkid by taking a photo while in toilet. The act brought mixed reactions to Mdubz fans but after all he was...

HIPHOP VERSUS LAW N ew year is always a good year but 2018 is not doing any favor for MDubz hip hop music artists. In the first two months of the year 2018, we have already witnessed apprehension of two hip hop artists for recording songs which are said to be slightly parallel to the constitution of Malawi. The first victim of the ordeal was rapper Chavula, real name Mwiza Chavura, ex member of the legendary music group Trap-squad which comprised of the likes of Stich fray, Juda gaga, the late Revolver & Sir patricks. The rapper got arrested earlier this year for recording a song titled Rape. The songs concept focused on a guy (Chavura) threatening a girl who has been rejecting him that he will one day rape her “Nzakupanga rape! Kukamwa kwako nzaku mata tape” part of the lyric reads. Morally, the song was indeed extremely out of virtues for most Malawians, but unfortunately, hip-hop fans saw nothing wrong with the song. “ It’s a lovely song, I see nothing wrong about ...

Jay Jay C at 2016 UMP awards  The Mabilinganya youngster Jay Jay C has a good taste of catchy hooks. No matter what he is singing he always put a dope chorus for it and his new release Sendelera is no exception. Collaborating with the legendary Blacka Fella & Massa Vega of the Don dadah Alliance was quite a good choice for a hit setup but an honest Jay Jay C fan will tell you that the song is not as exciting as expected. Apart from bad instrumental choice, the worst thing about Sendelera is that its hook partly resembles that of his massive hit single “ Jangiliya”. The resemblance is purely noticeable that one may wonder why Jay Jay C could let that happen. Or was is maybe a deliberate move, I doubt it! The leading hip hop gospel artist Gwamba recently posted on his twitter handle that he has atleast 10 people who listen to his every track before he releases it so that he should atleast be shown mistakes he couldn’t see himself. If JJC had pre-listeners w...
